How to make your hair your crowning glory?

Hair is one of the features that enhances a woman’s beauty. Beautiful hair adds volumes to the overall look or personality. Very few people are born with real good hair. And even if they are, then also there is no guarantee of always having it unless you take proper care. Here are some of the tips which I have extracted:

1) Take a good nutritious diet rich in proteins and vitamins. Do specific yogasanas like Shirsasana, mayurasana etc. that promote the blood flow towards the scalp & nourish the hair to stimulate hair growth. Without nutritious food, proper exercise & a good sleep, all the hair products in the world can’t give you the look of healthy hair.

2) Massage your hair with warm oil, preferably coconut oil using your finger tips in firm circular motions.

3) Always oil your hair before shampooing. This prevents hair loss & provides good conditioning to your hair

4) Avoid shampooing in a hurry, as there are chances of shampoo left in the hair, which might prove to be harmful.

5) Eggs and curds are good conditioners for the hair. Apply for an hour. For oily hair use lemon mixed with water in the last rinse.

6) Dry the hair with a towel wound around like a turban. Never rub the towel vigorously on the scalp. Make minimum use of a hair drier.

7) If you are more inclined to use herbal shampoos then a mixture of amla, shikakai & reetha boiled together in water make a good cleanser.

8) Don’t comb the hair when the hair is wet. Start combing with a wide-toothed comb only when it is semi-dry after removing the tangles with your fingers. Nowadays there are many ads of products to remove knots & tangles of the hair. Use them only after verifying about their usefulness from your friends.

9) For preventing hair loss, make a paste of ground 2-3tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds and 4 tbsp of curds (yoghurt) & keep it for 2 hours & then shampoo it.

10) Neem leaves boiled in coconut oil prevent greying of hair.

11) Comb your hair often so the natural oil gets evenly distributed.

12) Colouring, waving, perming, curling, straightening of hair should be done minimally as they tend to weaken the hair.

13) Last but not the least, understand your hair’s needs & use proper products.

I am a bit confused by your point in #9. What kind of curds and where can these two items be found? Also, how much of each (measurement) should be used?

    Thanks!

  2. Dear Anonymous, I'm surprised that you don't know what fenugreek and curds are. Anyway, I've specified wiki sources, refer to it. As for the quantity of curds to be used, you have to decide that depending on the length and thickness of your hair. And next time please remember to leave your name while leaving a comment.

Hair growth depends on an adequate diet. A widespread diet problem which causes loss of hair is iron deficiency Anemia. The cause is too little iron in blood, brought on by a diet containing too little meat, eggs, cereals or peas and beans. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also needed to provide vitamin C, which enables the body to absorb iron.

Do not apply any thing contains chemical on your scalp and hair. When you apply oil , put your finger tips in oil and massage it on scalp. It will promote hair growth by increasing blood circulation to hair root areas.Try to make this oil. This is tested one. Remove the skin of about 15 Aloe Vera leaves.Take the gel out and add it to one liter of coconut oil.Boil this mixture. Boil till the gel appears as sand like particles. Cool and strain. Use this oil.Apply this regularly to scalp and hair.No need to use any shampoo. When you wipe , your towel will absorb most of the oil from head. Use shampoo only once in a fortnight

The best thing you can do for your hair (especially since we are nearing winter) is to keep your hair moisturized. Dry brittle hair will break off once you get split ends. Also you should try to get a trim every 6 weeks or so, which should keep up with the dead ends.

Mayonnaise in your hair helps make it shinier. Like massage it in your scalp for 20 minutes then wash it out in hot water. Then wash your hair regularly.
    - Extra virgin olive oil always helps make it shinier. This time, after you wash your hair like just shampoo, add the extra virgin olive oil and let it sit for 20 minutes then rinse it out and then add your conditioner.
    - Also, using coconut milk or coconut shampoo helps to make it shinier.
    - After washing your hair, wash it in cold cold water. The cold water closes the follicles in the hair and helps reflect more light.
