Simple ways of acquiring a clear & blemish free skin

It is not necessary to go to expensive beauty parlours or buy expensive creams and lotions to acquire a blemish free & clear complexion. A few homemade remedies are provided below which will serve the purpose equally well. Hope this will benefit the readers.

1. Always wash your face with mild soap so that the pores breathe fresh air. For a clear and attractive skin mix besan, turmeric (haldi), lemon and milk together. Make a paste. Apply it on the face. Let it dry. Wash with clean water. Wipe your face with a soft towel and pat it dry.
2. Rub a rind of lemon over your face if you have an oily skin and this will lessen grease and whiten your complexion.
3. To give velvet smoothness to your skin, just throw in a little starch to the water of our bath.
4. To avoid blemishes, drink first thing every morning a glass of carrot juice.
5. An effective treatment to clear complexions is the mixture of besan with cucumber juice rubbed over the face, neck & arms.
6. Tomatoes cut in half and rubbed over the face are useful for toning up & whitening the skin.
7. An occasional face pack of ice is a good tonic for the complexion.
8. Mixing equal quantities of lime & cucumber juice and applying to the face is also beneficial. It acts as astringent & bleaches the skin.
9. A simple recipe for blemish free skin is as follows:
50 gms channa dal (besan)
10 gms. Fenugrek (Methi) seeds
2-3 pieces turmeric
Powder the above and store it in a container. Use a little of this powder mixed with milk cream and wash the face daily with this instead of soap.
10. Chop banana skin and prepare a pulp with milk or curd. Apply on face.
11. Apply a mixture of 2 teaspoons of buttermilk & a few drops of almond oil & rose water on face & neck for nearly half an hour. Then wash it off.
12. A mixture of rice flour and milk applied on the face acts as a good facial.
13. A mixture of masuri dal (red lentils) and curds applied on the face for about 20 minutes imparts freshness to the face.

Thank you for submitting your post to Carnival of Tips!

What is channa dal and Methi? I've never heard of either in the U.S. Is there a particular ethnic store?

Aparna said...

Thanks Tipdiva, Channa dal is chickpea flour, also called besan in 'Hindi'. I've specified the wikipedia link and methi is fenugreek.

A soft, smooth and supple skin can take your confidence to that height you were dreaming for. A natural glow on your skin comes with proper care of your skin. Skin products available in the market take away the natural oil from your skin and make it dull and dry.

A moisturizing will protect your skin from moisture loss, helping to keep it soft, smooth and supple. It will also protect your skin from the penetration of grime, chemicals and bacteria. We all need moisturizers, even those of us with the most oily skin, but obviously it's important to choose the correct one for your skin type.

Apply moisturizer to your skin while it is still slightly damp from balancing. This enhances the moisturizing effect. Spread it gently, first on to your neck then up on to your face being careful not to drag the skin - particularly around the delicate eye area.

Make sure you use moisturizer with vegetable oil base. Mineral oil is not compatible with skin so baby lotion and petroleum jelly products are therefore best avoided

4. Last I use a good moisturizer with solar protection " Anti-aging" is so light is amazing
5. once a week I exfoliate my skin with "Microdermabrasion Scrub" pm it has so small beads I love it
all of the products I use are from VB Cosmetics they are the best!!!! they may be pricey but they're not expensive for the results you'll get they are well worth it

secret to a natural, flawless look
1. Apply foundation to your cheeks, forehead, and chin using a foundation brush, sponge, or clean fingertips. Blend the foundation all the way to your natural hairline with long, light strokes.
2. Continue blending over the jawline and onto your neck to achieve a natural, seamless look. Check your face and neck in natural light to make sure the foundation is completely blended in all areas.
3. If under-eye circles or red spots remain, do not add more foundation; it can look heavy and cakey.

Women with oily skin can use Chickpea powder and turmeric mixture to cleanse face. Turmeric is very good antiseptic. Take half cup chickpea powder. Add one teaspoon turmeric powder and half cup of milk. Stir well. Apply this paste all over the forehead, face and neck. Wait for two minutes and wash off. This is good for oily or mixed skin types. The chickpea powder absorbs the extra oil and the milk nourishes your skin, leaving it tingling fresh.

If you really want that airbrushed look, use a foundation brush. Using your finger doesn't give you even coverage and can leave you with blotchy spots. Using a sponge will give you better coverage, but the sponge absorbs half the make-up; that's money down the toilet. With a brush you're getting even coverage and you can easily clean the brush with your face cleaner, so you don't carry anything from day to day. Shop around and find what works best.
And always work with a clean palette!
That means wash your face and apply a toner to remove any residue that your face wash may leave behind. Apply a moisturizer. Then apply your foundation.

Cleaning and caring for the inside is just as important as the outside, maybe even more. If your body is filled with healthy nutrients, it has nicer tools to use when it makes your new skin cells. Eat more fruits and vegetables that are darker and more colorful; they have more vitamins in them. Vitamin A maintains and repairs skin tissues. Vitamins C and E act as antioxidants and protect the skin from the sun's ultraviolet rays and pollution.

Care for your skin by indulging in moisturizing and nourishing routines. Cleanse the skin with cold creams followed by alcohol free skin fresheners. Moisturize the skin while it is damp to get the best results. Make your own effective moisturizer by blending together three- fourth cup rose water, quarter teaspoon each of honey and glycerin and a teaspoon of vinegar. Use this mixture regularly after cleansing. Make a face mask with mashed banana and vegetable oil. Apply this paste and rinse after a while. This will help nourish the skin and relieve dryness. Some other aspects that will help keep skin moist and supple are avoiding going out in the sun without protection, using Luke- warm and not hot water for bathing and using alcohol free skin products and buying oil or cream based skin care products.

To look flawless Apply a good foundation,to your cheeks, forehead, and chin using a foundation brush or round sponge. Then BLEND the foundation all the way to your natural hairline with long, light strokes. Check your face and neck in natural light to make sure the foundation is completely blended in all areas.
If under-eye circles or red spots remain, do not add more foundation; it can look heavy and cakey. Instead, try a concealer. Yes, you can apply concealer over foundation Set your foundation with a light dusting of powder. Choose the shade of your foundation carefully. When testing shades, pick one that matches the tone of your jawline exactly.Begin by applying a small amount of foundation then increase amount to achieve the degree of coverage that suits your skin. But beware: don’t apply too much or you end up in cake city…definitely not flawless. For daytime, mix your foundation with a light SPF moisturizer before applying for a smoother, more sheer application.

Eating certain fats is another way to protect the youthful and healthy glow of your complexion. Essential fatty acids like those found in flaxseed and fish are going to help your skin retain moisture, while also helping to fill out wrinkles and creases. Try adding a serving or two of a fatty fish like salmon to your diet each week or take a fish oil supplement.

I don’t always get my 7-8 hours of sleep and am a firm believer in taking short naps (if possible). I would imagine that eating well goes along with the keeping hydrated tip. Apples and fresh fruit in general are wonderful ways to keep hydrated and give yourself some skin-friendly nutrients. In the mid-pm when I am having low energy a piece of fresh fruit really helps!

The lemon juice treatment is easy, just squeeze the juice of a 1-2 lemons into a bowl and using a cotton ball, rub the juice all over your face and other places (like the tops of your hands) that have dark spots. Leave on for 15-20 min and rise off. Follow with a good moisturizer and sun screen. It’s best to do this at night before going to bed – in that case skip the sun screen.

Jyothi said...

There is no magical way to get flawless skin, even the people you see in movies and ads have been airbrushed many times for perfection. The best thing you can do for healthy skin is eating a good diet, lots of fruits and veggies, and drinking lots of water. Put moisturizer (kind of like lotion for your face) on your acne. Don't go to tanning salons - you may look ok now, but later that tan will give you sun spots, wrinkles, cancer, and gross marks on your face. You can ask your doctor or go to a skin specialist (called a dermatologist) for a special medication that won't dry out your face, maybe something stronger than what you have been using. Wash your face 1-2 times a day, don't use too much face makeup, and when you do look for products with "non-cogmengenic" labels which won't clog your pores. Resist touching or picking whatever acne you have, and make it a habit to not touch your face at all. Not only will it help with clearing up your skin, but it will help with not spreading diseases and sicknesses.
