Well, whatever the wound, the first thing you should do is wash it very thoroughly with soap, then use peroxide. You cannot overwash, MRSA is running rampant and you DO NOT want that. If you're dealing with a deep cut, DO NOT USE PEROXIDE!!! Use bacitracin for the first couple days, and then allow it to get some air. If you keep a wound bandaged, it takes much longer to form a scab and heal

When dealing with minor wounds, keep the following guidelines in mind: Stop the bleeding by applying pressure using a gauze pad or clean cloth. If the bleeding persists after several minutes of applying pressure, get immediate medical attention. Keep the wound clean by washing the area with mild soap and water and removing any dirt. Dry the area
gently with a clean cloth, and cover the wound with a protective bandage. Change the bandage at least once a day. If the wound becomes tender to the touch and red or oozes fluid, see your doctor. If your cut is more serious and the bleeding does not stop on its own or the cut is large, deep, or rough on the
edges, try to stop the bleeding by applying pressure directly to the injury using a sterilized gauze pad or clean
cloth. Maintain pressure on the wound until the bleeding stops. Then consult your physician. A tetanus booster may be required if you haven't had one for a while

  9. Keep the area clean, dry and free of debris and foreign matter. Superficial wounds often do no need to be bandaged, as the bandages may hinder the healing process. Deep wounds are bandaged at the discretion of medical personnel. Deep wounds that are bandaged should be changed daily, inspected for signs of infection, and re-bandaged with clean materials, unless the veterinarian's post-care directions indicate otherwise.

Mince some onions and apply the paste on the wounded skin. Leave this on for an hour. After an hour wash off the paste and cover the wound for some time. The onion has properties that help it to remove the infection from the wound. However, it is important to throw the paste immediately after keeping it on for an hour. Do not touch any other part of your body with this paste.

Garlic juice is another bactericidal remedy. However, garlic juice is quite hot and should never be used in its concentrated form. Mix the juice of 2-3 cloves of garlic with some water. Smear this solution all over the wound and cover with a cotton pad. This will help release the infection in the form of pus. Wipe the wound clean then and cover it with a soft piece of gauze.
