Ayur Green Apple and Honey Face Gel: Review
Categorised under: Body and spa, products, review, Skin, Summer 2 comments
I’ve loved using Everyuth granular face wash (Read review); it’s mild and doesn’t strip my skin dry. Another product that’s quite similar to this one is Ayur Green Apple and Honey Face Gel. It’s mentioned that this particular gel contains green apple which has a rich supply of vitamins, minerals and honey that’s simply a wonderful natural ingredient that soothes, moisturizers and refreshes the skin and also helps with acne. Furthermore it has the goodness of menthol which helps in keeping the skin cool and fresh. Overall it’s an ideal product for all skin types in summer months.

Your hair can get sunburnt too
Categorised under: Beauty news, Hair, Summer, sunburn 7 comments
It’s not just your skin that has to endure the fury of the scorching sun. Your hair is also susceptible and can get sunburnt easily. Extreme exposure to the sun results in UV rays attacking your hair cuticles with such vehemence that your locks can’t lie flat and look totally frazzled out. Hair also loses all its former smoothness, shine and luster. The moisture from the hair is also lost making it extremely dry, brittle and unmanageable. Additionally, sun rays also lighten the color of your hair in exactly the same way as if it has been chemically lightened or bleached. Severe sun exposure can even burn your scalp, leading to hair-loss in many cases. Acutely sunburnt tresses need to be chopped off , a trichologist (hair doctor) would be able to treat your severely damaged tresses and suggest suitable deep conditioning and damage-repair treatments.
But as always, prevention is always better than cure. So it's a good idea to wear suitable head gears like hats as much as possible during the summer months, especially if you are holidaying in a place which has plenty of sun and sand. Also special hair care products meant for protecting your hair in summer should be chosen. These are usually in the form of leave-in conditioners with an SPF factor, and they should be applied frequently when you are out in the sun, just as you would apply sunscreen to your skin. A home-remedy that’s extremely beneficial for damaged and dry tresses is a bi-weekly hot-oil massage with virgin coconut oil.
And if you love to swim in cool waters of a swimming pool in summer, do read this post -- there are some great tips and suggestions for you to follow to protect your skin and hair from chlorinated waters.

Cold wax review
Categorised under: Hair, Hair Removal, products, review 3 commentsSometime back, I had purchased cold wax to remove superfluous hair from my legs. I don’t remember the brand, but certainly it wasn’t one of those stick and peel pre-coated cold wax strips. It was a container and the stuff inside it was in a semi-solid state. I had to purchase thin cotton strips separately for this purpose. (You could try Fantasea Non-Woven Facial & Body Wax Strips.) I spread out the wax on my legs with a spatula, pressed the cotton strips and pulled the hair off quickly in the opposite direction of hair-growth; it left my skin red and irritated and I must say it was horribly painful and hurt like hell. I did manage to remove all of the hair and my legs were hair-free for more than a month, but the whole process of waxing was very very painful and I resolved never to use store-bought cold wax again or for that matter wax my legs ever again.

What was your experience with cold wax or cold wax strips? Was it painful? Were you satisfied with the results? Let me know in your comments.
